Tysha Osborne, MS, LCMFT
Licensed Clinical Marriage & Family Therapist/Owner
We are wired to connect with others and ourselves in meaningful ways, but the pain and the sadness from life experiences have taught us that connection is not worth the internal battle. From one event to a lifetime of pain and suffering, I work with people to help them heal their wounds and embrace the warmth and beauty of their true self.
I practice through a trauma-informed, holistic, neuroscience lens, helping you to put words to what you are experiencing in your nervous system, and learn how to understand the sensations you feel in your body, your emotions, and your thoughts. Together, with curiosity and self-compassion, we begin the healing journey. My approach is not just talking about your life, it’s about empowering you to reach your goals and experience the change you are looking for.
There is not a one-size-fits-all therapy approach; I work with you to determine your goals for therapy and develop a plan to meet your needs. Priority is building a relationship with you that is safe and invites connection. I am trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR) and use other traditional talk-therapy treatment modalities (CBT, DBT, ACT). In addition, I utilize somatic therapies, provide education on neuroscience and mental health, and refer to various therapy modalities that equip you beyond the therapy session. With your receptivity, I will also try to make you laugh; laughter is important for healing. I believe in balancing the tears with natural hearty chuckles. As a holistic provider, we will consider all domains of well-being, which include physical and emotional health and social, thinking, and spiritual life. Also, I will communicate with other providers (physician, dietician, psychiatrist, chiropractor, etc.) on your behalf, as this collaborative process is beneficial to your treatment.
I believe the journey toward healing is a compassionate awakening of the self. It begins with finding stillness; simply saying to yourself, “I hear you.”
Lastly, you have the capacity within yourself to heal; this is inherent to all living creatures. While I am considered the professional in the client-therapist relationship, I believe you are the expert on your life. I will help you to trust your own process of healing and begin to listen to yourself. I will show up as a real person, engaging and interactive, so in return you can too.
You are worth the journey.
